Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can someone give me instructions to locate my mass air flow sensor in a ford focus lx 2005. Need to give it a clean and the CEL has activated, casuing the engine to chug a bit. Cheers!

Follow the big tube from the air filter box. It will be between the box and the engine.
A square black small yoke with a cable leading to it.

It's often better (imo) to remove the whole section if possible than to remove just the maf sensor itself.
This way you won't disturb the unit.

Just use an approved cleaner, spray and let dry. Don't touch the wires (again imo)

    What engine is in it?

It's not like the image above. Its a 1.4 petrol

That would explain why you can't find the air flow meter then. They don't have one!

Why am I getting an error code for the mass air flow sensor, if there is none?

What diagnostic tool are you using and what is the exact code you are getting?

P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction

P1100 MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor intermittent

Diagnostics tool via the speedometer dial
