Existing Operator Buying Eircom

    Is the option for an existing operator or operators to buy a significant or even majority share in Eircom.

    Or would this be view as anti-competitive. Or are they just better off waiting till they can get access to the eircom network.

    What do you think?

    Theres no explicit rule saying one of the other telcos couldnt buy a share (even a majority share) of eircom. They would probably have to get authorisation from, er, whoever regulates the whole possible anti-competitive angle, though. Mary Harney isnt it?

    It'd certainly make for instresting times if the likes of DT or Telia decided to do something like that.
