Why would you want to access the service menu?

The service menu is only accessible by approved service representatives.

Or someone with the service remote, or a bit of messing with a Harmony remote etc.

People don't generally need access to the Service Menu though. And you could potentially end up ruining your TV by messing with the wrong settings.

Sorry to jump in. Tried to rescan Saorview stations on my M1931 D PZ but a code is required. Tried 0000 without success. Any idea how to proceed? Many thanks.

0000 usually works on most TV's by default, unless it was changed by the end user.

Other codes that are sometimes used are 1111 or 1234.

Contact LG and they should have a work around for resetting PIN numbers. You really do not want to be browsing a TVs service menu unless you know what you are doing.

I'm sure Lg will oblige no problem although you might have to email proof of purchase to prove it is not stolen.

    Hope this helps

There's an issue where the TV "forgets" the channel allocations (ie BBC1 = 1, BBC2 = 2 etc etc).
To solve this, it's possible to access the file that contains the channel allocations in the installation menu. There's a program available called CHANSORT which allows editing of the channel list.
You can find out how to access the installation menu if you look in the chansort wiki.

    All done at owner's risk!!!
