Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Forgot I had these hidden away in a book. Anyone have any idea what they are worth. I have a load of other notes/coins too from around the world. Never had them valued. Half of them are in the attic at this stage.

    €20 cash for the lot?

Always check eBay - unless uncirculated a 1917 penny is not worth much see here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=george+v+1917+penny+&_sacat=0&_sop=1&_odkw=george+v+1917+penny+good&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 :)

Hi i have a Mint, 1915 GEORGIVS VD.G BRITISH FULL SOVEREIGN GOLD COIN
I am wondering how much it is worth and the best place to sell it if possible please.

    Regards

    Going on spot price
A sovereign is 0.2354 troy ounce
Spot price at the time i wrote this is €1283.27
So the scrap value of the coin is €302.08

Looking at this one here youd probably get around €295 after fees
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/1915-British-Sovereign-BU-Condition-/260935753572?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc0fb9f64

And this would be just under €300 after fees

It would be purely speculation depending on whether you think gold will go up or down in value

Hi. I have a few full and half sovereigns and was wondering how do I go and find if any of them are worth more than the bullion value except going through ebay listings of similar coins? Is there any place in Dublin that could do that or even a web site?

    Hi,

I have a few coins that are probably worth nothing...but thought I would ask here just in case :)

Would anyone be able to value the following for me:

10 One Penny coins, with varying years:
    - 1908
    - 1914
    - 1919
    - 1922
    - 1929
    - 1931
    - 1938
    - 1939
    - 1966
    - One that is hard to read, but looks like 1918

Also, two other, very very faded and worn coins. I'm not sure what type they are but one is from 1892 (the one with the woman on some sort of wheel), and the date on the other one is faded.

    Pics below.

    Thanks! :)

If you mean that small plastic presentation case pictured in your link, then about 30 Euro. There was a few different types of those cases, with various bank names etc. so depends really which one you have as the value might vary a bit.

    Hi there,

Similar to the above, I have the following notes

    10/- 6-4-64
    £1 - 13-5-66
    £5 - 12-5-69

    £10 - 24-5-73
    £20 - 6-1-75

The 10/- is admittedly "rough" but all of the other notes are blemish free, with no creases or marks of any description.

    Pics as below

    Thank you in advance

Dunno whether this is the way to go about it, but what the heck.
I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me the approx valuation of the two coins that I've attached (hopefully :) ) Thanks

Anyone have any idea of what a 1967 Queen Elizabeth II uncirculated gold sovereign would be worth? I have a pair of them and as far as I can tell, they're close to mint cond. under the magnifying glass.

    Thanks in advance.

I have a brasher doubloon 1787 that is brown (like copper). Anyone able to give me a valuation on it. I will post a picture if needs be. Suposingly it is meant to have a good value to it as its "gold" look a like is the most expensive coin in the world sold at over 7 million dollars. There is no counterfeit items of this coin but the gold one has plenty of counterfeits. Back then it wasn't worth much to counterfeit a copper coin and there is only 25 in the world... Sounds very rare to me and must be worth quite some bit if there is only 25 made...
    Thanks in advance,
    Karl.

    pictures of this please

these coins are actual copies made in the early 1860s of the the original brasher gold doubloon, and I think your right with only 25 being made, there was also 25 made in brass

Anybody got ideas as to what these are and their value? Some sort of cuff links? They are made from old coins - George II, Queen Anne etc. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Guys,

I have lots of coins from different year I got when I was a kid. It was my collection and now it has been in a bubble envelope for too long.

I am thinking to sell them but haven't got a clue about value or if any of them are even good for a collector.

I put them on a big sheet of paper recently and tried to take pictures and some are blurry but hopefully you will be able to guide me in how I should proceed.

I made a picasa album and a small video at the end, and would appreciate some feedback.

    https://picasaweb.google.com/Locteau/OldCoins

    thanks again

    Sebastien

Looks like a random collection of common World coins and I can't see any dealer being interested in buying them. Best bet would be to separate them by country and stick them up in lots on ebay, making sure to list the individual dates in case there's any important ones. Otherwise just stick them up on Adverts.

Yes it would be, but depends on it's condition. In good condition I've seen them selling for anything up to 50 Euro. There'd be a ship between two castles on one side and CC on the other. It's a merchant token but I've no idea who issued it, I'm not sure if the issuer is even known.

    Hi,
I have a £5 Bank of Ireland banknote from 1990, with a very low serial number - A000003. It's encased in a BoI commemorative card with some information on Queens University on the back. Anyone any idea of value?

Again it really depends on condition. Could be anything from a few euro to 100+ . You would really need to post a picture of both sides .
