mondeo mk3 air con noise

    Im getting a strange noise from the climate control unit (I think) in my 04 mondeo.
    Its not constant but it sounds like an old computer on dial up internet!!
    Anyone ever come across this before??

    Also when the unit is switched off when you stop the car it comes on again when you restart, kinda like it reset. Is this normal?
