No. They were the League finals.
Some of the cup finalists have not been decided yet

    Why do you think?
Good coaches, lots playing up there. what else would there be?
And there 19s are without several players who are now playing schools rugby like Cleary, Keelan.
Shannon won North u19 closed cup today beating Bruff 29-20 in final

And have one of the largest boys schools in the country ST Pats now playing rugby also helps.
In fairness they put huge effort into their age grade setup and it is paying off.

from what I hear the club is the primary driver for the school success. there were 3 of the belvedere backline that lost the jct final that are ex navan too

Navan - being our local rivals - have big numbers, great structures in place and the rugby committee actively manages the youth coaches. Too many clubs let whatever parents arrive in at under-7's work their way up to 19's with the team and pay no attention to coaching quality.

17's q/f's at the weekend Boyne by Enniscorthy 55 -7 and Navan by Naas 26 - 5 to setup a semi-final between Boyne & Navan which is a repeat of the league final.

the all-ireland semis between Navan & Virginia at 17's and Navan & ???? at 19's are on next Saturday in Dundalk. It's a very big Virginia pack by all accounts so it will be a bit of a bruising contest....

looks like ages going back to u18/20 next season in munster not sure about the rest

  • Registered Users Posts: 341 ✭✭munsterfan2

Leinster youths are sticking with 17's / 19's.... 20's / July or January is an adult decision...

No it doesn't. did Clubs not vote to keep 19/21s like they have every season since the change and we would be differing from the other provinces which would impact the all Ireland youth competitions

OL seems to be more of a shove this time, snr clubs saying that 21s are impacting on their snr seconds

Not every club just the noisy ones who constantly try to force their opinion on the branch and the branch unfortunately listen to them just for an easy life, sounds like madness but true!

21s doesn't affect clubs 2nds sides that much(ive played 21s and 2nds in same season).
Still don't see it happening especially if other provinces are not changing. they will not change if Leinster do not

Hope it doesn't happen but the desk huggers think this will help the J2s J3s etc to field more often but that won't happen players won't stick around if they have to play at lower level than 21's they will just give up on the sport

Not sure they think it will strenghten the Junior teams in senior clubs but I personally think it will lead to more players dropping away from the game after 21's
