Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not sure if this is best place to post but admin feel free to move if necessary.

So I have a tiny pea sized lump in the armpit area that came up about a year ago as a red spot, quite sore! Went to doc n said was just deep spot. Thought nothing of it but mentioned it to my new doc this week. She did a breast check and found a slight area of thickened tissue too on side of breast near the lump. She maintains it's prob nothing but is referring me to breast clinic to make sure. Low n behold after the breast check that evening I got my monthlies!!! I'm really hoping that explains the tissue thickening thing!!
But anyway, it takes 12 weeks to get an appointment. 12 weeks of torture! Wat do people do to stop going insane with worry?
I had blood tests at docs do results on Friday n hope they will be clear to give me some hope it's all ok!
Anyone care to share similar experience to stop me going mad! I'm diabetic too so rather not have to deal with any other disease as well!!!

Hi caitrionaanne, The Irish Cancer Society is a good place to start. The ICS has a confidential FREEFONE Helpline 1800 200 700. You, or anyone else can talk, in confidence, to a specialist Cancer nurse.

You are doing the right thing, getting things checked out. "What if...?" is a very stressful burden, so try not to brood on things - you will...we all do, but try to find positives to think about when the worries hit. If you have a confidant, use her/him - it's good to talk.

Have been there twice hun. The fact that your doc has put you in the category that has to wait 12 weeks is a good sign. You would have been viewed as a much more urgent case if she was worried. My aunt is in her 50's and regularly has to have benign cysts removed. It's easier said than done I know but try not to worry too much.

I've never been called back so not sure Eve, but it could just be part of the triple assessment that they are supposed to do. Clinical assessment by doctor, ultrasound and mammogram. That's the way it was when I was firs there in 2010 but when I went last year, triple assessment had been cut and I didn't get an ultrasound, thinking of paying privately for one actually as I still have unexplained pain.
