Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did you actually install the abd driver from the adb driver folder?

    did it install properly?

If not you may need to disable digital driver signing first

Does anyone have the GizChina code that was going around yesterday, for the weekend?
    I can't find it.. :(

    http://www.needrom.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/TWRP-AND-ADB_DRIVER-FOR-LETV-X600.zip

this seems to be the driver everyone uses.

As wiz says, if its windows 8/10 turn off driver signature checking.

Also have a look in device manager and see what it says when you have your phone plugged in.

it can be tricky the first time, you'll fly it after this.

Ran that and says driver already installed. I've followed the instructions to turn off driver sig previous, not sure how I know how it's worked. Should I try the recovery.bat again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭RossieMan

you're running these as administrator yes? just to be sure they're installing, sometimes can be a problem.

You can try it again if you wish, a screenshot of your device manager with your phone pulled in might help us determine if its being registered or not.

How about uninstalling previous drivers and trying this again ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 167 ✭✭Liverpool1981

Ran as admin, phone got stuck in fastboot so had to restart it.

Drivers seems defintely up to date, sorry what do you mean by phone pulled in?

  • Registered Users Posts: 167 ✭✭Liverpool1981

After right clicking recovery.bat and going into fastboot my phone comes to this.

When you say it got stuck in fastboot mode, its suppose to automatically reboot if you've installed everything correctly. Does it reboot to fastboot mode itself or do you have to manually hold down the buttons?

  • Registered Users Posts: 167 ✭✭Liverpool1981

It reboots in fastboot but then just restarts back to normal. I have to hold down but to get recovery mode.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,707 ✭✭✭wiz569

I don't think that's fastboot mode tbh have you tried pressing Volume down and power button at the same time while booting up

If thats a built in recovery mode instead you could try this
Finally, after week of searching on internet and trying everything, I did it! I did it via ADB, I connected phone while it was in recovery, ADB recognized it, I type "adb reboot bootloader" and phone start with fastboot mode!

I've been using vol up and power. I'll try the vol down

  • Registered Users Posts: 167 ✭✭Liverpool1981

I'm definitely getting a new phone after Christmas, I'll be getting the LeTv x500, solid phone, but I'm still waiting for a review on gizchina, I hope the camera is better or on par with the letv le 1 x600 camera which is the older one, and I'm looking for good audio too. Will cost me from 180-240, does dhl take care of customs duty/tax and do customs tax gift package sealed phones with dhl?

    Try the iRoot method.

Turns out the link was giving a false warning because it was a direct link from youtube.
The video owner should have linked to the site and let people download it themselves.
I just copied and pasted from the youtube description.

Well if you get the other screen when you use volume up and power then try the other part of my post above regarding adb tools

would i get taxed/customs duty with dhl? or should i go with eu direct (warehouse) guaranteed no tax but 20 euro more?

They're taking preorders, so they may have them in stock this week.

Oppomart take up to 12 days to deliver and duty/vat is included.

None will work if the drivers on your PC aren't installed correctly. It makes no difference, you could try all the software inb the world! Uninstall the driver and try again.

Will I completely uninstall adb aswell as its drivers? I did, scan says can't find drivers automatically. Tried drivres you sent me and says incompatible with win8 x64.

EDIT: Done shift + restart and f7... drivers installed fine. I'll start trying installing manually and one rot way...see what happens.

Hi mate, to be honest most of my time has been spent trying to get rid of the mass amounts of Chinese bloatware & disabling random Chinese notifications. I've only had it a few days and have yet to put a sim card in it, so I can't comment on the quality of volume/clarity on calls. The volume for videos is ok, bit grainy. The camera IMO is quite good, very responsive. Haven't taken any pics in natural light outdoors yet though.

My issues lie with it being an absolute nightmare to root. Even with changing keyboard, language, apps, turning off notifications etc there are chinese words random peppered around the phone menus & some bloatware apps cannot be uninstalled.

At a glance the phone itself seems excellent but if i'm being honest I would really need to have a good feel around and sort out the rom before I would recommend anyone spend a few hundred quid on it. If you are looking to ROM, I would go for something else from my experience. I think I would have better luck learning Chinese as oppose to successfully roming it.

If anybody has the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 (Prime preferably) would they mind letting me know what the battery life is like on the phone. I'm a little bit worried that the ~3000 mAh battery won't last long given the CPU in the phone.

If the battery life isn't great I think I'd be better off going for the Redmi Note 3 given the fact that it has a 4000mAh battery, but unfortunately the Note 3 lacks support for expandable memory, so it's a bit of a toss up.

Hey guys, quick question. Looking to get a phone for the gf. She had heart set on iphone 6s and was gonna get it on bill and i pay the handset cost but decided she couldnt afford the monthly bill.

I never got chinese phone before and read hear about rooting and all that malarky. Looking at the xiaomi mi4. Can get it for 255 from here (european seller with 1 year warranty it seems) https://www.xiaomiforsale.com/en/phones/29-xiaomi-mi4.html

Dont really fancy rooting it or messing around with it at all. Is this a good phone and worth it? From what I have gathered it is the best brand in the chinese phone world? I have

Cheers Rossie, I saw it mentioned on a different forum. Gonna look at some of the sites in the first post so. What you think or know of the mi4? Is there a better alternative for the same price?

EDIT: the redmi not 3 looks really really nice. Like a iphone 6s plus. Any thought on this?

The Mi4C is a better bet. Mi4 suffered from overheating issues from what I read about it. I bought the Mi4C from Oppomart and it's a great phone for the price. No tax if you pick the "expedited shipping" option as they route it through France.

You'll need to install a clean version of the rom as it comes with bloatware though. Various guides on YouTube if you decide to get it.

One plus x. If you like the look of the iPhone, this is the one to go for. Around 280-300 delivered though.

As Rossie said, avoid them. Don't know who they are and have hidden their company details with their domain provider.

Use one of the companies listed on post 1_of this thread.

Hey guys, do DHL open up phones in gift packages? Its something i got etotalk to do for me once and i didnt get taxed by them, just wondering if it's changed or anything?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭RossieMan

Yes they do, they aren't stupid.

It makes no difference. There is no way around customs with dhl or any major courier provider. Snail mail has the lowest detection rate.

Buy from a seller with an EU warehouse,no customs charges within the EU
