Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I've got a Record 0220 block plane but the brass wheel and adjusting screw are missing. Anyone know where I could get these? I've Googled it but without success. :(

    Thanks.

Only way really is to collect them and make the best you can out of the bits you've got. afaik that particular model had a bit of a flaw if it was handled badly the thread on the adjuster attached to the iron(blade) used to strip.

I doubt you'll get a part now (other than from another plane) but interestingly it seems that parts were avalaible once apon a time. The part "number" you want is H Cutter Adjusting Screw and probably F Frog Slide (the bit that lost its thread?) which I can see in a 1955 Record Catalog, no prices for the parts but at that time the whole plane would have set you back 16/- which is about a euro :) , a spare blade was 3/3 back then (about 20cents).

tbh if I was going to spend any time fixing up a block plane I'd start with a better one anything from 09½ to 019 would IMO be better planes worth more effort.

Try dropping these guys an email they might be able to help http://www.oldtools.co.uk/index.php there are quite a few other similar shops in the UK so you might be able to google up some more like http://www.toolbazaar.co.uk , nothing I know of in Ireland.
