Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What will happen Bloody Sunday Killers if Scotland goes independent and Ireland follows suit? Will they be pursued all the way to the Hague?

    If Ireland becomes independent?

Are you one of those extreme nationalist folks (more extreme than Sinn Fein) who doesnt recognise the republic of ireland and believes that the dail as led by enda kenny is actually a puppet british government and that the real dail exists in tandem (made up mostly of republican paralimitants - whats not clear is how they believe they are ths successors to the first dail when less than 1% of the population supports them or is even aware of them)?

It is also possible hat you are from eg America and dont know that most of ireland has been independent from uk rule for 66/77/92 years and only six counties are part of the uk?

To answer the question as best i can, yes, any established tribunal of inquiry would pass to whatever successor state and such a state (whether it be a united ireland or an independent northern ireland - not that anyone wants the latter) would have the power to amend, set up or close such inquiries. Politically a united ireland would have no reason not to continue the inquiry, alhough there might be logistical problems with trying to compell uk citzens to attend in an independent state.
