    I know there are in the region of 120 Irish soldiers stationed there could possibly be them. This is very worrying.

    Maybe not and I hope you're right but the Irish forces there at the moment are there as a contingency reserve (heard it on Newstalk) so who's the first people for any rescue mission?:(

    Minister convey just been on with Mary Wilson. What a spoofer. He couldn't lie straight in bed and certainly wouldn't instilled confidence. If the Irish troops are in trouble(and I believe they're not tg) they would be better fighting their way out than depending on him to negotiate with anybody.

    Luckily the UN troops captured fell into the hands of the relatively moderate elements of the FSA. Hard to believe Al Nusra are considered moderate these days. Even Al Quida seems moderate and a group you could almost reason with.

    Had the UN troops fallen into the hands of ISIS not sure what the outcome would have been, probably a large ransom demanded. They've made a fortune from ransoms, while murdering Syrian and Iraqi soldiers who no-one seems to care about.

    Internesting read and goes to show that the best way in dealing with this is do what the Americans have done. Don't pay ransoms.

    The troops captured were from Fiji, apparently Filipino troops were also ordered to disarm and surrender and they refused. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/184538#.U__t8fldV8E

    If the Undof forces are incapable of defending themselves or are under restrictive orders then they should be pulled out. Let the IDF take care of Al-Nusra or anyone else that messes about on the border.
