I bought a pair of edge 204 4" speakers in Halfords today to replace the factory speakers in my doblo cargo as they are rattling and the sound isn't very clear.

The new speakers connect via wires but the old one have some kind of adapter. Like this http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/images/m/m0tCeTzgVprrHqlG9NLVMOA/s-l225.jpg

Is it safe enough to cut off the adapter and strip the wires and twist join with the supplied wires with the speakers

Would there be any issues with doing this?

What about if I mix up the polarity of the wires would this cause less quality sound from the speakers. I googled and read that as long as both speakers have the same polarity it'll be fine
    Is this true.

    Thanks

You can either cut the plug off the van loom, or ideally - if you can - cut the plug off the speaker and wire the new speakers to that.
You can buy crimped terminals cheaply. A lot of €discount shops sell them.
