    Looking for somewhere to spend 2 weeks in Portugal over summer with good night life and is near the beach, any suggestions ?

    A lot depends on your circumstances - e.g. travelling solo, with young kids, things you want to do etc.

    The Lisbon area - Estoril/Cascais etc. covers most bases. Decent beach scene, good night life, handy for Lisbon itself and activities like golf in the vicinity. Estoril is popular with Brits, so a few English pubs if that is your fancy. A Casino too.

    The Algarve is mostly suited to golf and sailing but I'm sure there is a good kid's scene available. Loads of other options (which I haven't explored) further north, but they probably involve driving or a package that includes transport. Some people rave about the Oporto area which can be reached by air.

    If you state a few preferences I'm sure you will get plenty of good suggestions. Overall Portugal is a great destination - well recommended.
