Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Paul you never got back to me on this (not able to receive mms from 3 Ireland) of course when I contacted them (3 Irl) they insist nothing is wrong. The week the agreement was announced last Jan/feb between the networks I remember testing and it didn't work back then either. Any chance you could raise this with Fujitsu to investigate with 3.

    Hi Paul

Mms problem seems to be resolved now. Now when I get access to Selfcare I will be a Tesco lifer :)

Quick question if I may to Paul? :)

Phone: HTC Radar (Windows Phone) with Tesco sim (PAYG) + 1GB data bundle

Problem: Can't download from the Marketplace. It always says - "The Windows Live ID service is unavailable at the moment. Try again later" - Yet it works on wi-fi (Meteor and O2).

Regular internet browsing is perfectly fine by the way.

Is this a Tesco data issue or a Microsoft issue or something else?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi there

It should work. Only think I noticed on Windows 7 phones is that there seems to be nowhere to set MMS settings but this shouldnt matter in this case.

We dont have any proxy settings so as long as our apn (tescomobile.liffeytelecom.com) is set in the right place it should work.

    regards
    Paul

Looking for internet/mms settings for Acer S120 (liquid metal mt), but couldn't find the model on the Tescomobile support pages.

I've recently moved to tesco mobile prepay, after topping up and receiving my free credit, the cost of calls is deducted from my top up, not the free credit?, what gives ???.
The tesco website says 'The Top Up that you paid for is only used once your bonus credit has run out or expires'????

International, premium or roaming calls and texts only come from paid for credit. Bonus credit is used first where it can be used on Irish calls, texts, picture messages or data outside bundle.

All prepay customers, regardless if they purchased a phone or went sim only, are entitled to the bonus credit.

I have a few questions I'd like to ask re migrating to Tesco from O2
(mods please feel to move this post if it's not appropriate to this thread)

I'm currently on a 30 day rolling contract with O2 and looking at moving to a similar 30 day plan with Tesco. If I move to Tesco, do I have to give O2 notice, and are there any penalties (like loss of advance rental)?

Also, how long does the migration typically take? I've heard all sorts of rumours about it taking several days when it should only be no more than a few hours.

Does Tesco provide free webtext like O2?

Are Tesco's bills fully itemised or just a summary?

And what is their 3G data performances like?

Sorry for the long list of questions....:o

    Hi

does a tesco sim work in an unlocked mifi device?
I've just tried and I get the roaming symbol on it and o2IRL symbol, it tells me my device is connected to the mifi device but I cannot access the internet (ssid and password correct)
    I bought a 6.99 data bundle.
I've noticed that some people on the o2 forum are complaining of crap internet experiences lately, would that be the cause of my woes?

    Thanks

    On the other questions

You need to check your T+C's with O2 as to how you exit your arrangement with them but usually on a rolling contract you just port out and you are only billed for what you use (rental and usage).

Yes, fully itemised and paperless PDF through My Tesco Mobile.

Yes it will work in an unlocked MIFI device. You need to turn on roaming (which it sounds like it is) and our apn is tescomobile.liffeytelecom.com.

You need to set the APN in the MIFI device settings software

No luck with wiping the phone. Still the same problem about not being able to download from the Marketplace.

Yes you pay for the bundle from main credit and then data comes from the bundle. Once the bundle expires bonus credit is used first for outside bundle use and then main credit.

    Hi there

This one is confusing. We do no network level blocking of ports or services so it has to be device related. There must be somewhere to set an apn for the marketplace or else the marketplace is doing its own network identification/filtering? The device may be setup to recognise the 3 SIM but not Tesco Mobile.

I suggest you follow up with HTC and I will do likewise.

Expiry date also doesn't show up when using *100*6# (<-- thanks for that)

So once my credit drops when I'm on the web I'll better get the next bundle.

    Hi Paul,

This could be a phone issue rather than a network issue i'm not sure.

I've joined tesco mobile this week on pay monthly with a samsung galaxy s2. I activated the account today (the number should be ported tmrw)

The phone is making calls and sending texts but there is a small r beside the signal bars. The roaming is on and it is shown as on in the phone settings. I dont know how to turn it off.

I've tried selecting my phone network automatically, but when i choose tesco mobile it makes no difference. (When you check in phone settings it says it is connected to tesco mobile, so it shouldn't be roaming at all)

Also I cant use 3g, i don't know how to turn it on or off, this is probably related to the problem above?

    Hope thats clear enough?

    Thanks for any help

    Cian

    Hi Cian

Due to our setup as an MVNO on O2's network some Android phones see this as roaming. The R is expected as a result and causes no issues. You need to check in your settings for data roaming also. There should be an option on the SGS2 to set this to National Roaming. When this is on and as long as the data settings are correct you should have data access.

    Regards
    Paul
