Macbook virus??

Hi there, Whenever I start using Safari/Any other browser I find that some of the text on a page is now highlighted with a little green box to the top right of the word that is highlighted. See example below. Is this a virus and is there any way to get rid of it? Thanks.

Its not a virus, is junkware.

If thats Safari check for plugins or toolbars, its one of the "search enhancers". Same applies to any other browsers.

I've seen this before. It's probably a browser plugin. I found one that auto-ticked a box that inserted amazon referral ads everywhere. There was an opt out option, but I just removed the whole plugin for that shady work.
