I have installed a new version of Java.

However, all I'm getting from Firefox is, "Firefox has prevented an out-of-date version of Java from working."

How do I uninstall the old version so that the new one starts working?

    Thanks.

    D.

    Hi,

Apologies - should have said Windows 8.1 Pro x64.

Yes, it's listed in Firefox under, Tools/Add-Ons/Plugins. It has red through it with the message: Java.........8.0.250.18 is known to be vulnerable."

I can only choose between Ask to Activate and Never Activate.

    Thanks.

Mine says the same actually, but I also have listed a Java (TM) Platform SE 8 U25
    That seems to work

You might need to go to Oracles page and download that

Now that you mention it, I have that SE 8 U25 listed too.

So, presumably, I don't need the other one? If so, how can I delete it from Firefox?

    Thanks.
