Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

12v socket problems - VW Jetta

    I've a 2014 Jetta and all three of the 12v sockets aren't working. I shorted out the one in the front when a coin fell into it (....) but when I went to replace the fuse as I've done in previous cars none looked blown and there's also no fuse chart to denote which fuse is for what. Owner manual is useless.

    Could it be something other than the fuse? Unlikely I know.

    I know this isn't an answer as such but is the car not still under warranty?

    i changed the same for a friend on a 2011 jetta. & for the same reason..
    the fuse was a 20A fuse...but cant remember which number for the location.

    just to be sure...it was in the fusebox in the cabin. just in case youre looking in the one under the bonnet. :-)

    It's under warranty but the nearest main dealer is a fair trek and I'm up the walls at work. I've looked at all the fuses and none look obviously blown so looks like I'll be taking a trip and a day off.

    If you shorted out the circuit and caused the fuse to blow then technically that's not a warranty issue in any case.

    Which fuse box were you checking?

    Should be fuse 30 in the fusebox inside the car. It's a 20amp fuse.

    Just following up - it was repaired free of charge by VW as it was, according to them, a 'fault with the wiring'.

    PS: was checking the fusebox inside the cabin.
