Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If I don't get enough points for Medicine, I want to have somethings to fall back on so there's dentistry second and third would be chemical or electrical engineering. I just want to know, if I study Dental Hygiene at TCD for 2 years, will I be able to move up to study Dentistry for the whole 4/5 years or how long it is? how long will it take for me to leave college then?

I'm pretty sure there's no direct progression from Dental Hygiene to Dental Science. You'll just have to re-apply for Dental Science in the normal way.

As for your third choice... why? Chemical/Electrical engineering has little to nothing to do with clinical courses in the health sciences.

Well I have an interest in both Medicine and Engineering so I guess if at the time I sit the exam pretty bad for my standard I'll have a legitimate thing to fall back on which would be Engineering in TCD/UCD (405=TCD/435=UCD around that)

I do Dental Science (1st year) and to my knowledge there is no progression from Hygiene to Dental science. There are 3 women in my year who are fully qualified hygienists and they have to do the full 5 years like everyone else. People with medical degrees get advanced placement to 2nd year but that's it as far as I know.
