Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I have one of these which I bought recently. It's 08 and has 27,000 miles. It's had one service before at about 16,000 miles, this was in a VW garage and was stamped and written up as long life service.

On the windscreen I can barely make out that brake fluid needs to be done at 28K miles.

Can someone please tell me what my service intervals should be and what would be involved in the services and also some more info. on what the "long life service is" and what my next options are.

    Thanks,
    MAJJ

Brake fluid is 2 years I think so they had probably marked it up as being required at next service when they did the 16000 mile service.

The longlife service is a flexible distance setup. INstead of a set 15,000 km, it should show may 26 or 27k km after a service and then count down at a rate which is calculated on various aspects of the vehicle use such as driving style and journey types etc. Given the extended interval, the longlife service needs the specific longlife oil and usually an air filter each time too.
You would be better advised to change the oil every 9 or 10k miles though really. There are slightly cheaper yet approved oils which are suitable for the standard interval service.
