Hi,
I'm in love with this book , I've read it a good few times but I still can't make up my mind about the ending of this book. I'm eager to figure out what actually happen to the main character Ellen in the end. I read the ending a lot times and the only idea I got from it , is that Ellen fell in love with a girl and she had never seen James after he left for Germany.

Can anyone who has read this novel , please analysis the ending for me. THANKS
