The sorting of bottles into colours is a joke. More than once I've seen a collection truck empty all the different colours into the same space in the back.
They've little leprechauns inside who sort through them and separate them again

Joe has people who do his recycling for him.
To many recycling means getting on a bike and cycling over and over and over again

As we take a break, a serious question: Does anyone actually use directory enquires? The amount of ads that run for 11890 and 11850 seem to suggest there's plenty of money in it...

Recycling in Europe, you get money back for glass bottles, aluminium cans and plastic bottles.
If they can afford to pay there you can mbe sure they can pay here...someones making money from this

I'd say it's a right little money spinner, especially since raw materials like oil and metals have gone up so much in recent years. Alumunium especially.

They make money from stiffing callers by asking if you want them to connect you. I got caught by that the first time. Never again.

    "protectors of Galway?"

I must have missed the announcement in the Mass leaflet

    Ah jesus Joe

"People needed home heating oil, how do they get it?"

Most people top up at the start of the winter.

Caller:"Cars running out of home heating "

Thats a new one on me.

    Getting irritated here.

Is her accent all over the place or am I going mad?

There's a hint of the tinker Flatley off her, well don't you know?

Just in, looks like I haven't missed much from a quick glance of the thread.

Joe sounds as interested as usual; i.e. not at all. Today's crossword in The Irish Times The Beano must be especially tough.

    Joe:"Those pictures are unreal"
Caller:"Yeay, you could be talking all day but a picture shows the devastation"

Maybe it's her Galway accent but it sounded like there were two "Dippos" either side of the Island which left me with a mental picture of a couple of blokes drinking buckfast in a brown bag with a rope holding up their trousers

Horatijoe is impressed with Margaret's investigative skills. He's noting these for the next time he finds litter in Clontarf.

Im out. Im only getting annoyed listening to that wagon and her hand wringing and the council and their underhanded actions regarding dumping. Fining people for dumping for leaving a cardboard box next to a bottle bank.
