Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Golf Radio Problems

Hi, feel free to move this to a more suited forum if needed.

So, the girlfriend has a 2005 VW Golf and a few months ago the standard radio decided to start misbehaving.
What its doing is, when you start the car the radio automatically comes on like it should but all its getting is static, then every 5 seconds or so it will pick up the signal from whatever station it is tuned to but only for a second then looses it again. This will happen for as long as the radio is turned on, but i figured out a couple of weeks ago that if I switch the radio from fm to am a few times it will eventually work on fm perfectly for as long as you leave the radio on. Sometimes you might have to switch around for 10 mins and sometimes it works after just 1 or 2 switches, but as soon as the radio goes off when you pull the key from the ignition you have to start all over again next time you need the radio.
Please help before I loose by mind.
    Cheers.

Nothing on the face of it. As OSI says, its just the standard factory fit RCD300.

I have repaired dozens of the RCD300 radios but have not had any one with a reception fault, Wondering if yours is the Delta6 model which gives a lot of reception trouble.

When I get home later i'll take it out and have a look for a model number.
