Is it possible for a driver on Dublin Bus to take a fare for 2 people ( adult and child ) from one Leapcard?

Yes, but only as a tag on fare for the card owner and as an extra ticket for the extra person(s). The extra tickets are charged at the leap card fare afaik. Any number of tickets can be issued using the same leap card so much so that many teachers taking classes on school trips are using a school leap card which they top up and then get the driver to issue individual extra person tickets for all the children.

This is only possible on buses though.

Have done it on BE Cork City services. Not sure if it can be done with BE Dublin commuter services
