Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi folks....curious about the price of a train ticket I am in the middle of trying to purchase online and was wondering if anyone might know if theres a glitch on the Irish rail website before contact them.

Basically I am trying to purchase a ticket from Dublin to Killarney for Sat 23 Aug, the standard fare is displayed as €23.99 but when I try to select the railcard/ taxsaver loyalty option the price is higher at €38?! Surely this price should be lower than €23.99?

    Thanks in advance!

Taxsaver loyalty is a fully flexible fare, whereas a 10 euro surcharge applies to the normal adult fare if you change your time of departure

But I dont want to change departure time, just looking to book early train and wondering why discount isnt applicable?

The railcard/ taxsaver option would be a discount from the normal walk up single of €66.50, the standard railcard single is €38. The €23.99 is a web based discount for advanced purchase, a different type of ticket with different terms and conditions.
