Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd say clearwater would be the best one to try. They def got them, it's just weather they all sold out or not.

Try ringing the store and asking for the manager of health and beauty. They should know if they have them.

Clearwater must be the worst to get a bargain in, the staff grab everything, one of them saw me looking for flash drives a few months back, smiled and said "too late pal"

  • Registered Users Posts: 170 ✭✭powerstation

That staff member should have not said anything if you didn't specifically ask for assistance.

To actually observe a customer and pass a comment when you were just browsing is just cheap behaviour.

Thanks for posting, I checked Douglas today on the off chance that they might have some of the 4x AA rechargeables and I was surprised to see 2 packets staring me in the face. They were the only thing I really needed from both this and the original Tesco bargains thread!
Didn't see much other bargains but they did have the Nutrodol Car air fresheners for 70c, a Tesco Dab Alarm clock for €13ish. A couple of empty spaces where there was ariel (with febreeze or something) and bold white something or other which the shelf label said they were down from about 8 to about 2 euro.

Interesting. They certainly were not there a few days ago - I searched the entire display thoroughly and they had 3x and 5x but no 4x.
    Must swing by again....

€7.99 for the PNY Manufactured 16GB HP v195b USB Flash Drive. These are suprisingly fast. Made by PNY, so the quality must be above a certain level. Rebranded by HP, obviously.

Picked up in Tesco Ballybrack, at an ungodly hour today.. No idea if there's more floating about.

The 8GB, in the same range, are priced at €12.95, as far as I can tell.

    pny16gbtesco.jpg

Oddly, every one of the sticks I bought had track marks on the USB contact strips, as if they'd been pulled in and out of a socket a few times already.

Plastic heat sealed packaging with card glued on top, so, they might be factory refurbs, who knows.

Case is all plastic this year, the same model last year, again on offer at Tesco, had a 'metallic' finish on the top side of the case. Everything is plastic now.

EDIT: Here's my photos on the model from the megathread last year, when they were priced at €12 euro.

They were both actually on the front of the display of the other Duracel AAs, when I saw them I thought that someone had scanned them and put them back because they were full price! But no, both scanned at the €1.40!! So when they refill the display again it might be worth a shot!! Seems very random that there were only 2 of them and both at the front.

Plus last year one came with a nice cord/loop/chain thingy to click on to it.

Plus last year one came with a nice cord/loop/chain thingy to click on to it.

A bit of swings and roundabouts on the Read\Write too..

Faster on the write, overall. 12MB.

Slower on the Read, taps out at just short of 18MB.

Every job has a perk of some description; it just so happens that tesco's perk interferes with our BA scavenging. Personally, i'd say you would have to see the funny side of his/her comment.

After they refused to sell me 14c batteries I was told they have to be returned and they could be sacked if staff took for themselves and they had a strict policy on it.
    /sniff, defo not roses:rolleyes:

Anyway those 1.40 AAs must be mixed in with the rest because they keep restocking at irregular intervals. Tis the AAAs I'm looking for now if anyone spots (/swap?)

My pic seems to be gone now, but they're technika 1.5m gold plated HDMI leads, good value. Loads left in Maynooth.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Probably un-yellow-stickered too; they often don't advertise the outrageous deals. I remember in 2010 they had Dairy Milks/Pink Snacks etc for ~30-40c per bar.

And of course the epic Bounty deal; 10 Bounty's for €2.

Those 92c chargers are a duracell portable device charger and use two (included) AA batteries for emergency charge of phone/mp3 etc...I got one in tesco's weeks back when I was looking for the battery chargers...haven't opened it yet but the amazon reviews say they don't work very well for what they're supposed to...

Also keep an eye out for:

Tresemme Shampoo = 900ml for €1.49. Tresemme shampoo and conditioner are on 1/2 price at the moment but I got a couple of bottles that were marked only €1.49

Head and Shoulders Shampoo and Conditioner - (small size) some limited types clearing at just 74c

Pantene Conditioner 400ml Usually €5.99 - a number of different types including one called "Enhanced Layers" were clearing for just €1.24

Also picked up Ariel Stain Remover Powder 1KG usually over €10 for just €2.49

From my experience in the last few weeks, stores are clearing products at approx 75% off. However a particular product can be clearing in one store and be sitting on the shelf at full price in another.

The shampoo and conditioner were in the Tullamore store yesterday.
    It pays to shop around.

Also lots of the 4 pack of Plenty at €1.49 on the shelf in Tullamore yesterday. No shelf price label on them but they scanned at €1.49

  • Registered Users Posts: 388 ✭✭siber

Nearly forgot to mention that I also picked up a couple of boxes of
Paynes Just Brazils 180gm for €1.49, reduced from €5.99 yesterday. (Tesco Tullamore)

Mind these are not worth €5.99 - but great as a stocking filler for €1.49

So much chocolate reduced:( Managed to pick up 5 of the 97c Cadburys variety bags, and told another lady that they were reduced and she took the remaining 3 or 4 in Mahon. Going to use them instead of selection boxes!! Works out a lot cheaper. (They look like the pic but there are flakes instead of moros)
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSV_uLlazDPcwCjSLL2omVNTupoOeACu27FATh4neCyxXcwj11z
Also picked up 4 Bold 2in1 20 wash with a touch of lenor freshness for about €2.14. Was about 6 or 7 left on the shelf with no price on the shelf. It is the Diamond and Lotus Flower scent.

Also was 4 2lt of Coke or Diet Coke for €5.

You have to get up early to catch them.

If the night staff packing the shelves haven't bought them, they generally are gone by lunchtime.
Also there is usually not that many of each item.
example: shelf space for plenty roll 4 pack is probably 12 to 14 packs max.
