Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ok i have bee searching this online and all i can find is the full case and it is not even up to date, can anyone point me in the direction of a summary of this case when it was finally settled in 2010, or even if someone has the time for a short explanation

    basically it was the most expensive civil trial in ireland! it was a case concerning insider trading whereby jim Flavin was a part of a comany which bought shares off fyfees! however, he was also part of a company which controlled the finances of fyfees....
    there were arguments concerning whether the courts could use the single economic entity argument and put both the companies together as opposed to being single economic entites!
    it was found to be acting as a single economic entity! hope this helps a bit!

    yes that was helpful thanks it cleared up aspects of the case till 2007 but there was another judgement in 2010 clearing flavin of insider trading i think

    yes...i think it was a supreme court case! he was cleared of the insider trading i think!

    That whole thing stank, the supremes sided against Flavin, and he had to step down from dcc, but there was nothing done about Fyffes lying to their owners while knowing what flavin knew and was selling
