Just six a week, very sensible, good value though, where's that ?

There's bargains to be found in Dublin pubs if ya shop around. There's a 6 for €20 deal in The Blacker on Tuesdays and they also have all drinks at €3.50 each on Thursdays. I heard there's 5 for €18/€19 in The Fountain on Meath Street. The Cock 'n' Bull in Coolock Village sell pints for €4 every day of the week (also Guinness for €3.80 and Beamish for €3.30) in the bar (although the lounge charge more for drinks). Don't forget Wetherspoons in Blackrock have recently reduced their prices and no pint or bottled beer costs more than €2.95 apparently. I have heard of a few pubs in the inner city doing pints for €3 on certain days as well.

As for me and drinking, I like to get out 2-3 times a week. Consumption tends to vary.

Definitely upwards of fifteen most weeks. But if my mam asks, tell her I only had three or she'll blow a fuse.

Maybe I should cut down, I might get one of those "Bikini bellies" coveted so highly right now.

Used to drink one in the evening and throw in a whiskey from time to time but didn't drink any alcohol for a few month now.

Round 70 pints every second week. Gone to a stage now where I have to give it up or die.

It really depends on what's going on in life.

I used to go out Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday day/night couldn't tell ya how many would have been the average but a few let's say.

Then you get older, married, kids, etc

To be honest I'm happy with a few bottles of IPA or other craft beer a week these days.

Though some weeks can be completely dry.

This week for example is a zero beer week and next week could easily be as well just with work and family stuff.

Some serious drinking goin on here though.

Impressed and scared for a few livers here in equal measure.

I've been contenting myself with 6 of these bad boys each week since the end of April. The wedding debt will be paid off in 2 weeks so I may actually see the inside of a pub in the near future!

That's some drinkin'! Used to drink about a keg every two weeks myself, but that'd be over two weeks, don't drink much, or at all really, these days

Friday I'll have probably 10 pints and 4 shots after work

Saturday lunchtime I'll have 4 or 5, go for a sleep

Wake, bit of grub and another 10 or so

Nothing on Sunday or during the week

Been doing this for 10 years since I'm 20

Doc check up says my liver is clean as a whistle and sharp as a thistle

I eat healthy and exercise so my weekend excesses are somewhat less taxing

very average 20 something consumption I think, but as you get from 30-40, I think this will change big time....

Usually drink 5/6 craft beers twice per week, midweek if there's sport on, and one night at the weekend. And to be honest I thought maybe I was drinking too much or too often, but from reading some of the above I don't think I'm drinking half enough. I need to up my game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 523 ✭✭✭leinsterdude

Yes thats not too much, but maybe enough, twice a week does not mess you up, and I bet you enjoy them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,165 ✭✭✭Wompa1

Usually 0. I drink about 5 or 6 times a year now. Use to drink a few nights a week

  • Registered Users Posts: 523 ✭✭✭leinsterdude

why the cut down in volume ?

Sure do. Nothing more enjoyable than sitting down after a hard days work to a few frosty heavily hopped IPAs, or Pale/Dark Ales, with the feet up and sport on the box.
....Unfortunately as a Liverpool supporter my Tuesday/Wednesday beers have shifted to a Thursday.

Is it pints of beer you're referring to? It isn't America you know.
