Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    1 under.

    Cheers - thank you.

After I asked the question - I had a brain wave and checked the live scoring - I take it when hole 15/16 is been referred to - that's actually just his 3rd or 4th hole in the round - as it looks to me as if hes on the back 9???.

    Am I right???

Yes, he started on the back nine so he's 1 under after playing 7 holes. GIR only 29% so scrambling well.

Another par on 17. Nothing spectacular, but if he ends up -2 or -3, I'll be pleased.

Commentators have just said front 9 is more difficult than back 9. C'mon Padraig!

Looking at his stats his driving appears to be all over the place but he scrambling very well.

I love Tiger and all but it a pity we need to see every single shot he takes

Not just his shots today........historical shots.......we watch him waiting on the tee......etc Cringe.

Yes, Padraig's tee shots are wild.

Terrific scrambling. Vintage Harrington. GIR only 40%!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,000 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Come on Padraig - Birdie time.

    In the absence of ForeRight.

If he can get to -2 , he is back.

    Not good,

He is better off in the crap it seems

    Looks Bogey time.

    - Never ever say he is back.

    Only ForeRight can do that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Bloody hell. When he finally gets a great drive away, he finishes up with a bogey having visited a greenside bunder en route to the hole.

Had he made birdie - hed be in 25th place now - but dropping a shot means hes in 65th

    Frustrating

Seems to have dropped 2. +1 now. Ah come on Padraig. You gotta stay ahead of Tiger.

Did he just hole out on his 8th for eagle to get back to Level? I think he did?! Haha

Play seems to be suspended so he'll finish his last hole tomorrow. Absolutely all over the place so he'll probably be happy with Level par!

There's no way I'm getting my hopes there!
It is PH and it is Shot Tracker after all :)
We'll probably wake up tomorrow to find it was a double

So it was a bit of a roller coaster after I went to bed! Heard about that eagle on RTE. So he's level par after all that. The 40% odd GIR is worrying - he can't get away with it for ever!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,708 ✭✭✭Speak Now

His playing partners haven't completed the hole, he obviously play better in the dark :):)

    <positive spin klaxon>!!!

Hopefully last night was just the brushing off of the cob webs after a 7 week lay off. What seems to be clear is that his scrambling is decent. It seemed like the kind of round that could have gone away from him very early but with a bit of luck, seems to have kept things on track. I think making the cut and driving on from there will be a solid start to the season. Its a strong field and if he makes it to the weekend, it will be good for his morale. The last thing any of us want is a missed cut in the first outing!

Finishing off with an Eagle was nice :D

time will tell how he progresses

Short of green in two, chipped to 14 feet and two putted.

He's hit the fairway on the second, which is good!

His short game doesn't seem to be doing the job today. On the fairway just short of the green on each of the first two holes and failed to get up and down from 13 yards on the 1st and 29 yards on the 2nd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

His tee shots seemed awful yesterday, but he scrambled brilliantly. Maybe not getting away with it today. Started bogey, bogey, par.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,608 ✭✭✭newport2

Good tee shot on 4th, 20 ft left for birdie

Unfortunately handed it back with a bogey on the next hole.

It feels like 2014 again :(

Pretty hilarious start from Paddy. Bogeys all the par 4's so far and birdied the two par 3's. 1 par and that was on a par 5!!!

    Great consistency!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,580 ✭✭✭uberwolf

    finally pars a Par4

  • Registered Users Posts: 643 ✭✭✭REBELSAFC

It could be worse....He could be Tiger....no Birdies..3 bogeys..2 Double Bogies and 1 Triple Bogey to top it off. He is lying dead last after 13 holes on 12over

Bit of a miracle needed from Pod now to make the cut. Terrible start to the year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

That's an awful looking card. I was so hopeful yesterday.

I have a sneaky suspicion Hes actually only 1 over. something doesn't add up on shot tracker. It says he only hit the ball a yard twice.

The live scoring was showing 3 over a few minutes ago

(the one his own site links to)

Edit - it shows him as having done another hole - and still on 3 over par

I know but shot tracker said he hit it 4 feet from the middle of the fairway on the 8th. Unless he took a 2 foot divot there's no way he could do that. Also on the 6th it says he done the same in the bunker

Anythings possible with Padraig these times

It does look like (on a wider note) that the benefits of the Indonesian win have been lost during the 7 week lay off.

I wonder would things have been different with this event had the win been last week (if that makes sense)

Well leaving the ball in the bunker is a possibility but other one a shot tracker error.

Birdied 13 and I was thinking he could still make the cut with another par5 and drivable par4 to come. Alas a lost ball or OB off the 14th tee means the weekend off.
