Hulk Hogan should NEVER EVEEEEEER return to in ring action, an accident waiting to happen.

The only way I'd look forward to a hogan in ring return was if it was against Lesnar.

You can't hate Hogan that much, can you?

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Hogan win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. I doubt he'd ever be fit enough to have an actual match but he could probably get through that without much bother; he could rest in the corner and never take a bump on the mat. And considering it did nothing for Cesaro last year I wouldn't even begrudge him winning instead of an active roster member (as long as his eliminations didn't mirror Big Show & Kane by making everybody else look a complete joke of course).

EDIT: Apart from Slater. Slater's feud with the legends at RAW 1000 was enjoyable. Thinking about it more I'd actually love to see Slater punch Hogan, who falls to his knees, Slater brags to the crowd not realising Hogan is Hulking up behind him.

In terms of talent probably one of the best they've ever had. Maybe even the best.

In terms of stars probably one of the worst they've ever had. Maybe even the worst.

Says a lot about the booking.

    Jesus

I listened to the show that this came up on and it was only a tiny piece, Meltzer's comment was kind of flippant and off cuff, sounded like he was making an educated guess.

Besides, there have been previous Mania graphics without numbers:

    Wm29poster.jpg

Also, Mania 16 just had the '2000' gimmick and a load of them didn't have the roman numerals.

Talent wise the roster is amazing.

Creatively, the product is at 1994-1995 levels of horrendous.

Won't have roman numerals but the next few will have Roman something else!

I actually don't but he's in no physical condition to step inside a ring again. He shouldn't go near a ring no matter how much of a short stint it is.

I've no interest in seeing him return either. It's when he pops up every now and then for a promo but the last thing he should be doing is wrestling. Only really posted that earlier because I thought it was a strange thing for 2fm to be reporting.

Hogan cant wrestle at all with the back surgery he had. Its a specialist surgery and doing something like wrestling just can't be done after it. Hes blowing smoke because Hulk Hogan likes attention, just in case people hadn't noticed :p

More info here...good to see a young up-and-comer with big ambitions! :)

    http://www.therecord.com/whatson-story/5289529-hulk-hogan-training-for-wwe-ring-return/

Discussing a potential bout at WWE's showpiece event, he said: "If it happened I would want it to be the greatest match of all time, of course ... If it's the end of my career and a huge emotional send-off that would be great, or if it's the beginning of another huge run for Hulkamania and me chasing the dream of winning the WWE title, that would be brilliant. I'm thinking very positively about getting back in the ring."

Whilst I can't say no to a Ziggler v Bryan match at any ppv. So sad. They did have a great opener in bragging rights ppv a few years ago if i'm not mistaken.

Your most popular babyface so far down the card.

Bryan vs Ziggler would easily be the MOTN. Nothing else looks like it could even come close. Orton vs Rollins maybe but that's it. I'll be surprised if it happens considering they are both very popular and established babyfaces.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,966 ✭✭✭Scavenger XIII

You could book it as a collaborative "let's prove we're the best performers and steal the show so they can't keep overlooking us".

But then that would make some sort of sense. :pac:

Ziggler v Bryan steal the WM card and then get puinshed for the rest of the year by Vince to prove a point.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,216 ✭✭✭Ageyev

Bryan v Ziggler should be good 4 minute match. If they got on the main show at all. Unless Triple H cuts his silly entrance time

    According to Rajah:

"WWE have made a new rule that talent and office people and talent and production people are not allowed to date each other. They do not want talent and staff interaction past a professional level.

Well there's Rosa screwed. Poor Micheal Hayes.

On a serious note tho. Is this even legal? Surely this can't be true

A lot of companies have that rule.

    From Wikipedia.
Court decisions in some U.S. states have allowed employers a limited legal right to enforce non-fraternization policies among employees (i.e., policies forbidding employees to maintain certain kinds of relationships with each other). Since the 1990s, such corporate policies have been increasingly adopted in the United States in the pursuit of objectives such as protecting professionalism and workplace productivity, promoting gender equality and women's rights, or avoiding and mitigating the impact of sexual harassment lawsuits. These decisions and the policies they protect have, however, been criticized on various grounds: as illegitimate constraints on individual freedom of association, as tools for companies to punish participation in labor unions, and as expressions of overzealous political correctness.

Professional and college-level sports teams in the U.S. have enacted anti-fraternization policies between athletes and cheerleaders. Very few American Football teams [3] allow casual contacts between players and cheerleaders. Reasons for this policy include interference with concentration, potential fallout for the images of teams, and the possibility of sex crimes or sexual harassment, and attendant legal liability.

    Absolutely agree with your skepticism.

A singles match outside of the top few is guaranteed to be cut to oblivion on the day, even if the majority of those matches really SHOULD be as short as possible (Sting, Taker, and the combo of Reigns and Brock really aren't up to having long matches).

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

No a great match on a B PPV that should have taken place at Mania.
WWE will probably be frustrated when they realise one of them has to go over at the end of the day though.

Obviously the logical way to end the match would be for the Authorithy to send Kane out to cause a no contest. /WWE Booking

So Triple H and Stephanie are at least partly responsible for this rule? The hypocrisy is ridiculous.

Given the "independent contractor" status of in-ring talent I can't imagine WWE being on rock solid ground with this rule, but any punishment for talent would likely be in the usual form of a fall down the card for "creative reasons" rather than being linked directly to an unapproved liason.

Absolutely ridiculous about the no dating other talent or staff rule! Not only is it highly hypocritical but it is also going to make it a lot tougher for talent to find meaningful relationships. They are on the road 5 days a week in different places so how the hell are they supposed to meet someone outside of WWE like that? Insane!

Pretty sure it's only production, creative and executives, they can still date other wrestlers if they want too.

Oh please just fúck off Hogan. Please. For the love of God!

Hulk Hogan recently spoke about the possibility of one last match with WWE. Here are the highlights…

    On his Current Health:

“My back is straightened out after nine back surgeries, everything seems to be on track and working really well.”

On A Final WWE Match Happening:

“I got some advice from a wise man, his name is Vince McMahon and he said, ‘Never, say never.’ I’m back home in the WWE, this is where I started, I’m home and to end the legacy and put the period on the end of the sentence I am training right now like I’m getting ready for the WWE Championship. You just never know when Hulk Hogan is going to tear the house down. It could be any time, it could be anywhere. I am training and getting ready for my last match, my last run or my retirement match. It’s not over until the fat lady sings and I haven’t put the period at the end of the sentence yet.”

On a Possible Match at WrestleMania 31:

“If it happened I would want it to be the greatest match of all time, of course … If it’s the end of my career and a huge emotional send-off that would be great, or if it’s the beginning of another huge run for Hulkamania and me chasing the dream of winning the WWE title, that would be brilliant. I’m thinking very positively about getting back in the ring.”

PW.net reports that former head writer Brian Gewirtz is still contributing to WWE. Gewirtz, who was taking out of the writing spot in 2012, was backstage at the Rumble and continues to work as a consultant for the company, sending feedback on WWE TV to the company.

Gewirtz reportedly spends roughly one day a month working in-person for WWE and continues to write The Rock’s promos whenever he appears for the company. Gewirtz worked closely with Rock over the years and contributed to a lot of his promos.

Randy Orton is advertised for Monday’s episode of Raw, but according to the Wrestling Observer his status for the show is still uncertain. WWE has been pulling him from several advertised shows in order to delay his start for reasons.

    – Jerry Lawler is stepping into the ring for a match tomorrow night in Memphis, Tennessee. Lance Russell and Dave Brown are reuniting as announcers for the match, which will take place during the halftime of the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA game as part of “Memphis Wrestling Night.”
