Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I went out to price a toilet cistern repair and at the same time was asked if I knew what the problem was with his mira elite 2 shower.

Basically it cycles hot to cold repeatedly!!

I don't know anything about shower repairs, more used to showers off combi boilers:D.

What should I look at to try to fix it? Is there a filter and could limescale cause this fault?

    Thanks. Stove Fan:)

Most of reasons for cycling hot and cold despite what you hear is actually just the filter(The internal one) there is essentially 2 parts of the cleaning process.

Soak the head in a solution of water and vinager overnight. Use clear vinager as malt stains.

Then download the manual and it explains better than i can how to clean the internal filter. The water needs to be turned off,the shower will have to be run cold when you turn it back on. Its a form of priming as it protects the element by running cold. The reason i say form is the elite is self priming but i would never run an electric shower hot with no water as it can trip the internal switch that protects the motor..

Hi Joey, thats great:) Much appreciated!! I'll tell him to soak the showerhead before I go to clean the filter.
I presume it's tank fed? I'll check the tank for sediment etc while at it:)

    Cheers:)

I'll tag on this recent thread rather than start a new one.
I have the same electric shower, recently it just keeps on dripping.
I undid the hose & a trickle of water keeps coming out of the unit.
    Any advice would be wonderful.

Most likely problem. Grit lodged in the solenoid. If your confident just strip it down and clean it out.

Run it cold for5 min. Sometimes this can dislodge it
