    Hi Folks,

I need some advice regarding certification.

Im in 1st year studying software development. As part of a redundancy package my old job is paying 3000 towards education. Oracle courses fall under that category.

basically i can choose up to 3000 in certified courses.

Can anyone advise me on which i should be going for from here?

What do you want to work in the future?

An obvious one is the Java Programmer Certification track:

Id like to be a programmer. Problem is im only finished 1st year and need to pay for these soon or miss out. Kind of doing it backwards as it would make sense to do them after college but i cant.

I was on the phone to them and they say i need to do 6 before 7 so id have to do 6 first. You can see the upgrade tab in the link you posted.

So you reckon thats the one to aim for yeah? Seemed the most logical to me aswell.

Seems id get the course material for 800 quid then sit the exam for 200. Would love to know whats in it for that kind of money.

Java is a good way to go, but I wouldn't pin everything on it. I'd also look into C# and .Net. I would look into as many Oracle Courses as you can get your hands on including DB2 Admin and Development Courses.

Is there any other companies that you would recommend?

It doesnt have to be on the oracle site. The budget is 3000 to be spent and that can be used online. Im full time in college so cant really do anything else.
