Thread & list for ridiculously priced houses in Ireland

Just wanted to put together a list of ridiculously overpriced Houses that have only been just put up on Daft.

If your looking at the market & come across any House that made your jaw drop at the pure madness of the over inflated bubble price on the house thats still alive in 2011, please link them.

I also want to see what Estate Agents are the worst at trying to keep the housing bubble going.

Here is my first one i came across.....

Only put up yesterday it says great location and not a Luas in sight!!...Only over half a million!!

Yeah the last one really is madness...the fact that it was only put up on Daft yesterday too.

The first two might look ok but I know the area well...they are pretty much "Monaloe Park" which have no house's worth even near half a million pounds in the current market!

Straight out of today's Irish Times property. €600k for a cottage on South Circular Road. Pure delusion. Also smacks of the journo doing a mate selling their house a favour, which can often be the case with these type of featured houses in the property supplements.

Look at how small it is from the plans!...and the state of the kitchen.

The place looks like it needs 100,000 spent on it to bring it up to 2011 standards of living.

the property pin has an epic thread on this topic, funny stuff but also sad in a way.
The fact that somebody bought a shít hole for 300k and dropped 150k in renovations dont mean squat when the house is worth 120k now!

I won't mention the name, but it is named in the advertisement. It appears that this agent and 2 others are responsible for the majority of the properties listed in this thread.

That house has been on the market for a few years now, at least 2.5 anyway. There hasnt been a change in the asking price. I rang the estate agent 4 months ago and offered 300k to see what they would say, they never got back to me.

Benwavner :That's nothing new we're selling and we had a mention from our previous EA that a offer was made weeks later after they were long gone!
So your offer was probably not passed on.

Correct and right.

I am now the owner of a bigger house just around the corner from it. 3 bed semi, garage, converted attic, 128m2, 70 ft back garden all for 290k. Some EA's & sellers are stubborn and unrealistic.

My own property is a 180 m2 4 bed detached plus attic of 33 m2 large south facing loads of extras its 349K I have told new EA I want any offers etc put to us I don't want this to happen again. Some people open they just need to be told. Glad you got sorted

In my opinion, Every house in Ireland is still overpriced regardless of the value plunge.

Interesting view !! but then again who knows what is the real value of anything nowadays ,, the price one is prepared to pay ! The only comment I will make is that when one can get a decent rent say 5 % for a property then it sounds like reasonable value in these most uncertain times.:rolleyes:

Perfectly sensible. But try explaining that most simple of concepts to people who just don't want to understand it.
