Guru Jak Othman the founder of Silat in Ireland is returning to Ireland for a special 4 Day Training Experience. This is his first trip in 14 Years. Guru Jak will be teaching reality Malay blade fighting application with roots from ancient Silat ways. The training is open to all martial artists and will cover an array of Silat blades and flexible weapons.

On Sat 28th and Sun 29th March in Dublin, the Silat weapons being taught at the workshop will be Belati (Knife) Kermabit, Sarong and for the first time in Ireland the Kapak Kecil (Small Axe) and Ekor Pari (Stingray Tail) all ranges of fighting application will be covered along with Empty Hands Training.

Special Intensive Introductory classes will be held on Thursday 26th evening and Friday 27th throughout the day in a more intimate training environment where students will get the chance to learn Gayong Harimau and Harimau Berantai styles of Silat. These are the two Malay Silat styles that Guru Jak teaches, and will now be promoting and developing in Ireland. Guru Jak was the first person to teach Silat in Ireland back in 1985 in Kilrea, and now 30 years later we are so excited to see him return and to help in his development of these arts in Ireland. If any of these classes or workshops appeal and you like to attend, please feel free to PM.
