Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Best time to close my claim?

    Hi,

starting a new job on 1st Sept (yaay!) and I'm just wondering when is the best time to close my claim? My JSA is in the post office every Tuesday. I was thinking that it's be handier if I claim this weeks, then go online and end my claim and get whatever is due to me the following week (the 2/3 "waiting days"), just to have some cash coming in the following week too. I will be getting paid monthly so I'd prefer to have some money this week and next week and THEN live off baked beans till payday!

Can anyone advise me on how best to proceed? I wasn't 100% sure about my start month until Friday which is why I'm only thinking about what to do now. I don't want to do anything wrong or anything like that. Plus my sign on day is Sept 6th so I'd like to have it closed before then

You can sign off online - you close your claim on the first day of starting work. Any balance of any week due to you can be issued by cheque if you are unable to collect in the post office.

fantastic, thanks for the reply! There will def be something due to me, so in that case do I just go collect is as normal or make an arrangement to do so? I'll probably close the claim online
