Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

but can't because it doesn't exist? Haha

That is, in Dublin we have little to do at night aside from the pub or gigs - I don't even think you can go chill at a cafe past 11pm and even then I know only one that has that luxury.

Would you be inclined to attend an evening event at a cafe or restaurant (not speed dating related)?

well-organised seasonal markets, like the kind they have in Germany (where I am atm). Christmas markets have come to Dublin but it´s pretty much the only one in the year. Beer festivals, wine festivals, carnivals, street festivals. Sorry all my ideas are coming from the same source but I think they´ve got it well sussed here.

Also, an affordable ice-skating risk and roller disco (though is sounds incredibly cheesey and I´ve never done it) sound like fun to me. What else? If we´re getting more imaginative, I once went to...well it was basically a night club in a swimmin pool. It was really cool with lasers, lights, music, foam, everyone in swimming costumes, the water and water slides. No beer - too dangerous I guess. I like things that are a bit different

I'd love some freshly baked pastry stuffs at this hour, danishes, little tea cakes and the like.

I'd like an evening of market research.

The original Woodstock. It must have been an insane experience.

Yeah see, my bf and I are always looking for something to do and are so sick of the usual - it'd be nice to just do something that wasn't drink related. I was in Berlin and they had a ping-pong bar! Haha...they had drink there but I mean at least the ping-pong was new.

I agree about wanting pastries at night, btw haha. Accents Cafe next to Drury Court Hotel closes at 11 at least but I can't spend my life there... lol

I'm in Waterford at the minute and all those things are here! (bar the laser lit pool) Just got back from Dublin though and still prefer it there :(

Couldn't agree more, there seem to be a general unease, in the population at large, concerning the unavailability of fondant fancies at 5 in the morning. I'm glad I'm not the only one to have noticed this, I wonder if there's a protest gathering or march which I could attend in order to publicly display my outrage, particularly after our Greek and Spanish brothers and sisters have shown us the way in these matters.

Sadly, being Irish, I fear the best we'll muster is a couple of calls to 'crank heaven' (Liveline), and one or two hilariously unfunny letters to The Irish Times replete with bad puns, "Well fancy that" etc.

I'm apoplectic with anger and determined to do something about this, who's with me?

A cinema that shows blueys. Sometimes when you go home without a lady on your arm **** alone and crying simply wont cut the mustard. You might want to rip the frustration out of yourself in the peace and comfort of the local porno house.

I'd love to go to a water slide park type place - a proper one with long, twisty kick ass slides. The had a brilliant one in Brighton (where I grew up) but haven't seen anything anywhere near as good over here (in the arsehole of County Mayo).

I agree it may seem a bit childish, but meh!

There is the aquadome in Tralee but that's a good stretch from mayo.

Always thought it was strange we didn't have at least 1 here. Every city in UK seems to have a proper indoor pool with wave machines, huge slides etc. but it never took off here. Maybe cost of compo claims.

Banned in the Republic since the controversial All-Priests 5 a side over 75's Challenge back in the mid 90's. The Sapian affair and Lance Armstrong scandal had nothing on this event that split the country.
