First time visitor and occasional etcher, but a little surprised that
first, there doesnt seem to be a specific poetry forum, and
second and foremost, no mention of Seamus Heaney
or that I've just noticed, purely unintentionally that my title rhymes:o
He's having a laugh, cos he was unencumbered with having the need in his writing.
Anyway, in an odd way, that beanie was the hook on which to hang a little tribute, unfinished and instant with little perspiration.

I was going to add it to the RIP thread in AH, but censorred by AH.
Not happy with the ending, feels unfinished and rough, but so is life:pac:
So I'll leave it quietly here.

    A very very small tribute

    Rough and Soul
    Kings, uncrowned
    The shades, unshaded
    Flags, half-masted
    Dark ties, full-knotted
    Grey dome, covered
    Shirts, well-tucked
    slick tongues, tied
    Ordinary, Humbled
    An Other life, Wondered
    Passed and lighted,
    a family, joined
    Reunited, mourned
    Words unburdened
    No box can hold
    .

    Criticism or feedback appreciated
