    The ISS's February lecture arrives a little late this year - on March 8th - and it'll be given by Síle Lane, campaigns manager of Sense about Science - the UK based charitable trust that equips people to make sense of scientific and medical claims in public discussion (see www.senseaboutscience.org).

    It was a great talk! Sile was an excellent speaker. Hopefully she'll be invited back.

    Talking about the amount of things that claim to reduce toxins in your body, she mentioned the "anti-toxin hair straighteners, or to give them their full medical name: hair straighteners"
