    Hi,
I wonder does anyone have any experience with the Vox Amplug Bass.
I am thinking of starting playing again after a long lay off and am looking at this as a simple way back to just noodling when time allows.

Also, anyone suggest decent headphones for practicing..?

    Thanks!

I don't have an Amplug, but I do have a set of Vox amPhones (The AC30 guitar version : https://www.thomann.de/ie/vox_amphone_ac_30.htm), which are basically the Amplug technology built into headphones. Like you say, I use them for quick noodling when I don't or can't break out the amp. They work well. My ones have some effects built in which are pretty much useless - the reverb, delay and chorus basically all just sound like reverb. But the volume, tone and gain work very well. The cable is a bit short, but that won't be an issue on the Amplug.

For standalone headphones, I have a set of Superlux HD-662 F studio headphones. Very cheap, but the sound is great, and they're very comfortable.
