Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Need a new Rad - Puzzled

I have a significant leak in my '01 VW Passat radiator.
Rang 3 garages to get a quote, asked them to supply the new rad and they came back with 3 different quotes, just for parts.
    €115, €119 & €223!
I looked on Micks garage and there's one there for €100.
Can anyone explain this to me, I thought that the garages would get a certain discount, being repeat customers and all that.
Also, anyone got any thoughts, was going to get the timing belt done, seeing as all the front of the car has to come off anyway. Timing belt was done at 45k miles, now at 88k miles. Would it be a waste of money?
    Robert

the reason for the price difference is probably due to the 2 lower quotes being for spurus parts and the 3rd being a OE part.

As for the timing belt since the front has to be stripped and I think the t/b is in the way, not sure though, may as well do it.
