Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

First Aid course being run in UL, 17th to 19th of June

UL Windsurfing Club is hosting a first aid course, the Rescue and Emergency Care (REC 3) which is appropriate for groups operating away from facilities and that are outdoors but also covers all first aid that would be suitable for any group needing first aiders.

First-response.ie travels to groups to offer this course (http://first-response.ie/courses/rec3_courses.htm) which is run over 3 days, the cost for the course is €1600 with a maximum of 12 places on the course - this works out at €135 per head when these courses would normally cost between €180 and €220 per person. By having a full group it works out cheaper for all involved and the dates are relatively flexible.

This qualification is the level of first aid training required for most sports instructors but is also relevant for safety officers or anyone else wishing to provide first aid cover for their group.

Please contact me at Rose.barrett@ul.ie if you are interested in partaking.

We have use of the boathouse in UL for the course which will be run Friday 17th to Sunday the 19th of June. We will start around 6pm on Friday until 9 ish and 9am-6pm Sat and Sun.

    Regards,

    Rose - Safety Officer, ULWC

Hey folks we have a space available for the course this weekend - it's being run in the Boat house in UL, tea and coffee provided (I'm hoping the caffeine might entice people!)

Give me a shout if anyone is interested - lots of fun with triangular bandages and burns gel promised! :D
