    Hey,

I've searched the web but I can't find a clear answer to this question:

For a gaming PC, which CPU is better - Intel Core 2 Quad, or the AMD equivalent? I heard that Intel CPU's run much cooler.

    Can anyone advise me?

    Thanks

There is no Amd equivalent to a quad core

Im afraid AMD are sucking vast amounts of Intel willy at the minute...

Give them 2 or 3 years and things will get exciting again!

Less than that. Rumours are abounding about an absolutely amazing AMD chip that's just around the corner... Though that could just be AMD's PR department trying to get the undecideds to hold out...

There are rumours flying around the net about a possible merger of IBM and AMD at the moment ,

Most think it wont happen , but if it did , it could get very interesting , with the extra fab capacity and resources AMD might be able to compete on a level playing field with Intel.

That was only 2 years ago , before core2duo AMD were better for gaming. ( some processors only of course ! )

    +1 for Intel.
After a many years as an Intel hating AMD fan I have to say AMD suck balls ATM.
