Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Northern Ireland Assembly

I stumbled across the NIA report on TV tonight. There was a discussion between the arts and culture minister and a unionist politician. The unionist politician said that he objected to an invitation he received to a welcome home event for sports people (didn't catch the details) but his objection was that the invite was from the Northern Ireland something or other. He said he didn't attend because Northern Ireland was the phrase used. What is that about?

I am from a border county and thought I knew most of the sensitivities in communication in that context but don't refer to Northern Ireland from a member of the Northern Ireland assembly member. Have I missed something?

NI politics is messed up, didn't you know that.

People just love to be offended, and the slightest thing can do it.

But the ordinary people, do they not see what their reps spend their time on.
