Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cost of building a brick wall

    Need a brick wall 10ft high and 110 ft long how much would it cost and how long With it done DIY verses hiring someone

    A block wall of that length would be cheaper than brick, a 10 foot brick wall will also be every brittle, can you tell us more of what the purpose of the wall is and also have you taken into consideration foundations?

    Brick is not really a diy job at all and then when you take into account the length and height I would say get a pro also remember a brick wall that high will need blocks or bricks behind ie: a 9 inch wall so talk to a brick layer or building contractor

    Hi all. above is very interesting

    I am trying to price a brick wall, 1.8 m high, 13 m long, "english bond" a 9" thick wall that has finished face both sides and typically built with 1st course both front and back laid lenght ways and then the second course laid long ways and so on.

    Foundation is there as existing block wall has blown over.

    Piers required.

    Thinking of architectural salvage bricks and have seen ad for €450 for 500 bricks. Builder says I need 2800 bricks. Does this sound right?
    How much should sand, gravel and labour cost?

    Anything I should be asking the builder?
