Iarnród Éireann has advised rail customers to plan their travel by booking online well in advance of the October Bank Holiday weekend.
The October Bank Holiday weekend is traditionally the busiest of the year on the Intercity network, with over 200,000 Intercity journeys forecast.
Online booking is available now at www.irishrail.ie from Dublin to Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Galway and Westport/Ballina. Customers travelling on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October are particularly advised to book early, to secure their seat and guarantee travel.
Tickets can be booked online at www.irishrail.ie , by phone at 1850 444222 (LoCall rate) or at Heuston Station or the Iarnród Éireann Travel Centre, 35 Lower Abbey St, Dublin 1.
Iarnród Éireann will operate a special timetable across the October Bank Holiday weekend, with extra services operating at key times. Timetable information is available at www.irishrail.ie , and in timetable leaflets at stations.
Engineering works for the Kildare Route Project and at Portarlington will take place on Saturday evening 27th and Sunday morning 28th affecting services in and out of Heuston. Please click here for further information.

Iarnród Éireann has advised customers of service arrangements on DART, Commuter and Rosslare-Dublin services, to facilitate works required by the Lansdowne Road Stadium redevelopment.
To proceed with work on an underpass under the railway line, services will be affected on October Holiday weekend – October 27th, 28th, 29th 2007
OCTOBER WEEKEND SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS
DART: During the October weekend, DART services will be suspended between Connolly and Sydney Parade Stations.
DART services will operate between:
Howth/Malahide – Connolly
Sydney Parade – Bray/Greystones
Specific timetable information is available from your local station.
A shuttle bus service will operate between Connolly and Booterstown Stations for customers making cross-city journeys, or travelling from southside stations to the city centre.
Commuter: A full Northern and Maynooth line Commuter service will operate to/from Connolly Station.
Rosslare/Gorey-Dublin: During these weekends, Rosslare-Dublin and Gorey/Arklow-Dublin services will operate with bus transfers between Greystones and Dublin.
Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience and disruption caused by the Lansdowne Road Stadium development.
