If the date has passed then you could be lucky and your name not even called. The court would have went ahead as they call 100 names just to pick 12

What if they pick me and i was not there ?

    A friend has said its a E3K fine !!!!

I was called twice in the last 10 years and loads of people didn't turn up so they just moved on through the list until they got the 12. On both occasion s my name was not called at all.

Regarding getting called/not called it depends on the number of cases being impaneled for the week. Was on jury service recently myself.

Between the Monday -> Thursday there were quite a few trials on and the odds of not being called that week were quite low. Had been called on jury duty before (years ago) and there was only one trial on so the odds were quite high of not being called.

Assuming Criminal Courts? they do a roll call in the jury panel rooms of all who were called for jury service and who were there. So they'll know if you show/don't show..... if that results in an automatic fine I have no idea...

    Hope this helps...

And you can't recover for loss of earnings or loss of wages either for jury duty. Good result !
