    I suspect that drones will be mainly used for fresh deliveries. Food etc - which is more likely to mean one is at home. You couldn't drone deliver say a EUR 2,000 camera - because a human could very easily swipe it from the drone near the delivery point. Books are heavy.

    In my view the PUDO should be open to all deliveries. You send the supplier a (long) PIN by email or SMS and when they arrive at the PUDO centre, they enter the PIN and a vacant box opens for the delivery. If they are "Amazonistic" deliveries they will have a barcode on the label and the drone will have to be able to present the package to the PUDOs barcode reader to cause a locker door to open and the drone will be programmed to insert it in that box.

    Sister's apartment complex in the US had the ultra low-tech equivalent of this. Lockers with keys in them, key would be fired in to your mailbox by the parcel firm. You could leave a key with a note in your mailbox for USPS outbound shipments. Mailboxes were locked with only the USPS mailman and the apartment resident having keys to stop stuff being nicked.

    We have a pack station near us but we never use it because 9 out of 10 times a parcel will be left with a neighbour which is even more convenient. Still handy though.
