Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A TOP DJ launched a new series of shocking radio ads yesterday designed to wage war on drink-driving.

Today FM's Ray D'Arcy helped create the hard-hitting ad with the slogan "Don't be a f*****g eejit. Don't drink and drive." Listeners who tuned in to his morning show yesterday were asked to judge four ads littered with expletives and pick their favourite one.

An ad featuring a heartbreaking eulogy at the funeral of a man who killed himself and his girlfriend while drunk at the wheel was voted the most potent.
And now it will be broadcast on the national station to discourage people from drink-driving.

I think the ad was played in the daytime (including the expletives). He did a lot of campaigning on Road Safety at the time.

It'll be interesting to see how the angry people turn this into a D'arcy bashing moan fest...

Why are you bringing this up about 10 years too late

Yes Ray was very active in keeping radio safety a topical issue at the time, and fair play to him.

IMO the audience for his show was Celtic Tiger era, Pure Mule type mid 20s lads, working hard and drinking hard.
Just the kind of people who did drink and drive.
