Land ownership

Any ideas how to find out who now owns a house where the person has been deceased for 5+ yrs and the house is left.It is right next door and i would consider buying but cannot find who owns it now as owner died in U.S. I have been on all land registry etc but dont want to pay a fee if i get useless info.Any help? Thanks

If you are not prepared to pay the Land Registry fee, you will not get any information.
