Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ugh so sick, get the whole way down to the 12 yards out and then a catch and it looks like he is going in for a td but wait! Forced fumble and Clemson get the ball back. They are punting now and Notre Dame will have just over 1 minute with no timeouts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,946 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

TD Notre Dame with seven seconds left but the don't get the two points :(.

Dirty wet night in Clemson and lots of mistakes, unfortunately that's the end of any chance of making the playoffs.

After all that, I can't believe the play call on the 2pt attempt. What were they thinking??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,719 ✭✭✭JaMarcusHustle

    This ****ing team

If Sark isn't fired very shortly, I'll eat my hat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 583 ✭✭✭mooreman09

Only way Sark survives is if they challenge the PAC championship.

Oklahoma down 10 - 17 against Texas in the red river rivalry. Looking like a good finish to this.

It's been a good game. You feel Texas need another turnover.

TD Texas! Sooners down by 14, game on now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,717 ✭✭✭polaris68

Two big sacks for Texas. Oklahoma down 7 and punting with 3.33 left.

Great performance by Texas. Delighted for Strong.

Looks like Ohio have unlocked something today also.

Nick Chubb with a horrible looking leg injury on the first play of the game. Absolutely gutted :(

Michel looks like an upgrade... Serious depth at RB.

Jasus Harbaugh has that Michigan team and especially defence, playing well. That program is going to go into super hype mode over the summer

An upgrade?! Chubb is one of the best backs in college football.

In other news, Wake Forest beat Boston College 3-0.

Michel is a brilliantly talented football player. Not knocking Chubbs consistency or stats but Michel is a brilliant playmaker.

More a comment on Georgias depth at tailback than a comment on individuals.

Tennessee look a good team here apart from the two big plays from G.

Michel has been very good in limited snaps this year, but there's a reason he's Chubb's backup. However good Michel is, Chubb is better.

Also, that Chubb injury lends credence to the thoughts of many that Fournette should sit out next year.

He won't, but sophomores should be allowed enter the draft instead.

Better Tailback in their current system maybe but Michel was a freak and heavily recruited coming out of school. He'll get his opportunity now, just like the unheralded Chubb did last season when Gurley went down.

Be interesting to see him in a package designed for him

Chubb was a true freshman when Gurley went down, and a 5 star recruit heavily recruited by almost every big program in the country - Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, Stanford, Ohio State. And he was rushing for over 7 yards a carry as Chubb's backup before being made starter. Hardly unheralded!

Michel is averaging right around 7 per carry too.. Not a huge difference in when Gurley went down.

Evidence of Georgias amazing RB recruitment

Tennessee deservedly win. Georgia almost dealt with the loss of their leader Nick Chubb but relied on big plays and mistakes.

Tennessee were the better team throughout. Absorbing game.

I just wonder, not that tennessee might have gotten over the hump if they could possibly make a run to Atlanta from here. It depends largely on how Florida go from here but Tennessee are a very talented team.

The Vols are 3-3 mate. Third from bottom in the East even after the win today.

It's not inconceivable that they could win out. After Alabama next up its a handy finish to the year by SEC standards. 9-3 wouldn't be far from the top of the East. One of their losses is also non conference.

You have to love the SEC West. Big boy sport. 100% every week. Arkansas are completely committed here and are making it very tough on Alabama.

    Real war of attrition.

I'm disappointed WVU lost in OT after coming back. I feel like Holgerson hasn't adjuest to the Big 12 yet and hasn't been able to put together that great season.

5 INT's for Goff last night. Was he as bad as that sounds?

Then you see him make this type of throw:

Yeah he is very good but the way Cal played they were forced to move every inch through the air. He was taking on throws that he never should have considered.

He had four in the first Half!

I'm still unsure if Cal and Utah are quality teams or overrated teams.

Ding dong Sarkisian is gone :D

Showed up this morning "in no state for work". Clay Helton takes over as interim coach. Sark is on a "temporary leave of absence".

    Sad stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

He should have been told/forced to take a leave of absence to try and get himself sorted after the booster event in the summer. Hopefully he will now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,719 ✭✭✭JaMarcusHustle

Hope he pulls himself together, think he's always been a heavy drinker but can't imagine getting divorced earlier in the year helped.

Either way, it's clear he's not up to the job regardless of off the field events. Can't see him ever coming back. Good riddance.

Fascinating reading on the Inside USC timeline.

    https://twitter.com/InsideUSC

USC assistants pulled him out of a player huddle on the sidelines during the game against Arizona State last month as they believed he was drunk.

Strange weekend overall. Its getting more and more difficult to see what direction this season is going. Are we going to have 2 loss teams in the playoffs?? Its looking likely. Will a 1 loss Big12 team get in? Will ND get in if they win out. Very murky waters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

This weeks slate is great, pumped for it already! :D Just a shame a couple of the big games are on at the same time.

    #8 Florida @ #6 LSU
    #7 Michigan State @ #12 Michigan
    #10 Bama @ #9 Texas A&M
    #18 UCLA @ #15 Stanford
    #17 Iowa @ #20 Northwestern
    USC @ #14 Notre Dame

After getting a ticket for the Notre Dame USC game on Saturday

It's shaping up to be a great day out if the rain holds off. Shame about the USC HC issues. Have a good one at it.
