Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
My father in laws, 2007 Auris 1.4 Diesel's power steering light came on and steering went heavy. He went to toyota garage, said 1000 euro for a new ecu.
I replaced the ECU on my Astra which I got second hand for 20 euro a couple months ago.
Anyone have any experience replacing ECU's on an Auris/Toyota.
Is their a special ECU for power steering, sepearate to the main ECU.

Any help at all, I would be great full...

It's not the whole dash that needs to come off, the top half seperates, takes about 15 min, and yes very common for the power steering control unit to fail, it's due to bad internal soldering...

Start new thread with more details, car age and model, what you're trying to achieve etc.
